Introduction
------------
Call To Power Play By EMail Modification 1.0 (CTP PBEM Mod) has been created to accelerate the beginning process of a PBEM game and add some desirable features.
It consists of 4 major modules and some minor modifications on existing game files, not the original located in the installation folder but their copies into the scenario folder.


Details
-------

Accelerated Start 1.0:
The accelerated start is based on the Slamp's QuickStart. It adds three super settlers with 1000 movement point and vision of 2. They never get obsolete but you can't build new. They have the ability to move in sallow water. The first city to get built (capital) will start with 30.000 (3) citizens, two phalanx, one mounted archer and a (plain) settler. A good will be granded within city's tile. The next two cities will start with 20.000 (2) citizens, two phalanx, one warrior and a (plain) settler. All three cities must be built within the first 5 turns otherwise nothing will be granded. At the beginning of the turn each player will have the option to select a bunus tech from three available. These three available techs are picked randomly from 6 predefined advances. A dialog box will also let you select between your available government types. You begin with 16 predefined, common to all, advances, 10.000 gold and 5.000 infrastructure (public work). The game starts from year 1000 BC and ends at year 3000 AD. It lasts for 410 turn, about 65 turns less than the original duration. You have the ability to use a settler to increase cities population under certain circumstances. All cities below size 5 can be populated. cities between size 5 and 10 if they has Aquaduct and their happiness is not less than 85. Cities between size 11 and 20 if they have hospitals and their happiness is not less than 95.

Extra Messages & Alerts 1.0:
The extra messages and alerts are an implementation of some messages of Power SLIC.
A welcome message whith an info button and the appropriate buttons to access the bonus tech dialog and the select government dialog. A city growth message, a bombarding warning message and the ability of clicking a foreign unit and be able to get info form the great library about unit's characteristics or the diplomacy window.

Ratings:
Every 10 turns you are able to see your rankings on several aspects, your power graph and some statistics.

Statistics:
Implementation of the World Report by Fin Fahey where you can see statistics regarding your civilization or the entire world.

Revision 1:
accelerate.slc -> Cancel button in Alert box "SelectGovernment" placed in the left side.
messages.slc -> Close buttons in Message boxes "WelcomeMessage" & "CityGrowth" placed in the left side.
ratings.slc -> Close button in message box "Rankings" placed in the left side.
DiffDB.txt -> EXTRA_SETTLER_CHANCE string's value changed to 0 as in the lower difficulty level problems with the super settlsr appeared (more settlers or extra gold)
Readme.txt -> Enriched with more info.


Known Issues
------------
Button strings that comes from the default files and not form the mod might appeared with faulty strings causing the buttons to be enlarged under certain circumstances. This problems probably don't come form the mod but from localized versions of Call To Power. The problem is confronted by placing buttons with such strings in the left side of the message or alert box to avoid negetive interaction with the other buttons in Revision 1.

For single player games: Start a new game and select the appropriate scenario.
For PBEM games: See Important Notes below.


IMPORTANT Notes
---------------
If you want to start a single player game using this mod, probably you will need to copy all the files from the /Keygen's PBEM Series/scen0000/default/graphics/pictures to the respective game folder (/ctp_data/default/graphics/pictures).
For PBEM games it is necessary to copy each turn you receive to a relative folder to the save folder (e.g. /save/games/ctpbpemmod/), run the game and load the turn. By simply opening (double clicking) the turn might produce many errors and make difficult if not impossible to continue the game. An alternative would be to copy the "default" and "english" folder to the corresponding game folders and overwriting the default files which is not recommended.
